Terms of Service

1. Who We Are

VaultIt is developed and operated by GoodRoots Ventures LLC, a company incorporated in California, USA.

We created VaultIt to help parents and guardians capture, organize, and relive their children's memories — from drawings and voice notes to quotes and moments worth keeping forever.

2. Who Can Use VaultIt

VaultIt is designed for adult parents and guardians. You must be at least 13 years old to use the app, and if you're under 18, you should use it with a parent or guardian's permission.

While kids may appear in the content or interact with the app alongside their family, accounts must be created and managed by adults.

3. What You Can Do With VaultIt

VaultIt allows you to:

• Create a secure account
• Upload and organize memories like photos, voice clips, drawings, and quotes
• Browse, tag, filter, and view content in different ways
• Choose between free and premium plans
• Export or delete your content anytime

We may add, improve, or remove features over time. VaultIt will evolve — and hopefully get even better.

4. Free and Paid Plans

We offer:

• A free tier with limited storage and functionality
• One or more paid subscription tiers with more features and space

All payments are handled through Apple's App Store or Google Play, and:

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
• You can manage or cancel through your app store settings
• Refunds and billing terms follow Apple or Google policies
• If we ever change prices, we'll notify you in advance — continuing to use a paid plan after a price change means you accept the new rate

5. Your Content and Rights

You own your content — your photos, videos, quotes, and memories remain yours. When you upload them to VaultIt, you give us permission (a license) to:

• Store, back up, display, and organize them for you
• Share them only as you choose (like sending to a family member)
• Use secure third-party tools to help with storage, delivery, or analytics

This license is only for us to provide the service to you. We don't claim ownership and we don't sell or share your content for advertising.

By uploading, you promise that:

• You own or have permission to share the content
• You won't upload anything illegal, harmful, or that belongs to someone else without permission

We may remove content that breaks these rules or violates laws.

6. Using VaultIt Respectfully

To keep VaultIt safe and fun, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information when signing up
• Keep your login credentials secure
• Use the app legally and respectfully
• Not upload offensive, harmful, or infringing content

We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these rules — especially if they harm others or disrupt the service.

7. Account Inactivity and Deletion

You may delete your account and all data anytime from the app or by contacting privacy@vaultit.kids.

To help manage storage:

• Free accounts that are inactive for over 6 months may be deleted after we notify you
• If you exceed storage limits, we may restrict uploads or remove older content (after warning you)

We'll always aim to give fair notice before taking such actions.

8. Our Content and Intellectual Property

Everything else in VaultIt — the app, features, designs, and code — belongs to GoodRoots Ventures LLC.

You're welcome to use VaultIt as intended, but:

• You can't copy, sell, or reverse-engineer our app
• You can't use our name, logo, or branding without permission

VaultIt grants you a limited, non-exclusive license to use the app for personal purposes, in line with these Terms.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

VaultIt is provided "as is." While we care deeply about quality and reliability, we can't guarantee the app will always be perfect, error-free, or available 24/7.

We don't make any legal promises or warranties beyond those required by law. Use VaultIt at your own risk, and let us know if something's not working — we'll do our best to help.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We're not responsible for indirect losses (like lost memories, profits, or opportunities)
• Our total liability for any issue with VaultIt will not exceed the amount you paid in the past 12 months (if anything)
• We're not liable for data loss caused by outages, app errors, or third-party service failures

In short: we'll try our best to protect your memories, but we can't guarantee perfection.

11. Indemnification

If you do something that causes legal trouble — like uploading copyrighted content without permission — you agree to cover our costs (legal fees, damages, etc.) if VaultIt gets involved as a result.

12. Third-Party Services

VaultIt uses tools and services from other companies, including:

• Firebase (by Google) for secure storage and login
• Mixpanel for app usage analytics
• Apple and Google for purchases and subscriptions

Each has its own terms and privacy practices. We trust these services and use them to improve VaultIt for you.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA.

If we ever disagree and can't resolve things informally, we both agree to bring legal claims only in California state or federal courts — unless local laws give you additional rights elsewhere.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. If we make major changes, we'll try to let you know (via the app or email). The most current version is always available at vaultit.kids/terms.

By continuing to use VaultIt, you agree to the latest version.
